Gremlin's Hall (Orton)
Created by Horo
The initial submission was critisised as being noisy, and rightly so. A difference in noisyness could only be discerned when premium with 256 rpp was selected - which meant for the 2 hour render more than 3 days. I therefore resorted to render it as 4k x 3k picture, which finished in a bit less than half a day with the idea to downscale it. This did the trick about the noise. On second thought, this is a fairy place and there's no harm making it look a bit fairy. I don't use Orton filters because I have my own ideas how to implement it. So I upscaled the previous render, blurred it with an appropriate radius and boosted the intensity, then mixed it with the large render, and downscaled the result.

- Certainly you have achieved a dream like quality to this image. This hurts my eyes in another way, it makes me feel like it is not quite in focus. Which is sounding a bit hypercritical I know. The glow works very well, true. And the blurring, almost... if you are willing, I'd like to take a look at the source since this problem has piqued my interest now. I can't deny you your points, but I still believe, possibly erroniously, there is a way to unravel the noise entirely.
