Horo... You are correct...the crystals are a terrain textured with glass. Keep the resoultion low (like 32 or 64) stretch the height and width to suit your image needs then shrink the depth till you get the look your after.
Crystals Thanks. I'll probably try that once. I won't redo the ones I'm having in the rendering with 1% per hour, though. I've always tried to get much resulution. Obviously, the inverse can be very effective, too.

Ice Very good crystals. How did you do them? Terrains? I like the pond, its shore and the colour of the liquid.
